Every single one of them gives you a house manual to fill in — the wifi code, the bins, the checkout time — and then a section called “the neighbourhood” that is blank, and stays blank, because writing it properly means describing forty places in four languages and keeping them right.
VidiVeni starts from the other end. The area is already written: real places, each with a photograph, a spot on the map, a description and a practical tip, checked every month and audited for closures, in six languages. You put your name on it, add the things only you know, and send it with the booking.
It installs from a link, works offline once opened, and stops changing the moment you hand it over — so what your guest reads on Friday is what you checked on Monday.

What we are built around
Sell what exists
This site describes the product that runs today, and says plainly what is not built. Tests read the marketing pages against the shipping code, because a promise that only a human checks is a promise that drifts.
The guest is not the product
A guide carries no third-party trackers at all — nothing that follows your guest off the page. What we do measure is first-party, pseudonymous and can be switched off from inside the guide.
What you send stays sent
A guide is frozen when it is made. Facts underneath it — photographs, addresses, whether a place has closed — keep themselves current, but nobody rewrites what you already handed over.
Small, and by hand
VidiVeni is made by Venema Consulting & Innovatie in the Netherlands. During the pilot every host is set up by a person, which is slow on purpose: it is the only way to find out what this should be before it is sold at scale.
